Beethoven was one of the greatest composers during the classical period.In the late period of his creation,the style and emotional expression of his works changed obviously because of the change of his outlook on life,thus breaking the structure and writing style of piano sonata during the classicism period,so that the spiritual realm is sublimation and unconventional.The structure and content of Beethoven's late five Piano Sonatas foreshadow the musical performance and creative techniques of Romanticism and foreshadow the coming of Romanticism.Beethoven's piano sonata in E major,Op.109,was written in March 1820.It was also the peak of his late creation with a strong fantasy,becoming the most romantic style of the model of Beethoven piano sonata.This work not only changed the structure of sonata movement,but also adopted the composition technique of variation form.The bold and innovative approach had made the work thoughtful,rhythmic,and melodious.It became a combination of classical and romantic sonatas in Beethoven's late piano sonatas.This paper can be divided into four parts mainly.Firstly,this paper explains Beethoven's inheritance and breakthrough of the structure of sonata in brief,by the point of composing feathers of Beethoven's piano sonata in later period.Secondly,I analyze the musical characteristics of the piano sonata Op.109 from the aspects of structure and musical elements.And then I combine it with my performance of the sonata from the aspects of style,speed and character.Last but not least,I demonstrate the change of the creation ideas of Beethoven's music and his influence on the later Romantic music,including the influence of Beethoven on some composers during the Romantic period.
