The essence of implied motion cue is a picture with motion information in which the individual can perceive movement.As one of the categories of biological movement,implied motion cue can also be the direct research object in the research of the influence of motion on visual attention.In this study,the cue was a static simulated "throwing" motion.This research mainly investigates the effect of different proportions of cues on individual attentional shift under the cue-target paradigm.It also discusses whether the process of implied motion cues shifting spatial attention is bottom-up or top-down processing.This research includes three studies,all of which take the response time of the target with valid position and invalid position as the objective index to measure the effect of attentional shift.Study 1 examined whether participants in the unpredictive cue-target paradigm(50% valid condition)responded differently to the target at the valid or invalid cue location,and whether bottom-up attentional shift occurred,respectively,under the detection task and the discrimination task.Study 2 explored whether top-down regulation and allocation of attention occur when increasing the proportion of cues(75% valid condition)in two tasks.Study 3 in two tasks,reduce proportion of cues(25% valid condition),to investigate whether participants can actively shift their attention to the opposite side of the cue,and appeared cue expected effect.Study 3 further explore whether the process of shifting attention occurs from the bottom-up or from the top-down.The results showed that:In study 1,using the unpredictive cue-target paradigm,there was no attentional shift effect in the three types of SOA(100ms,300 ms,600ms)in the detection task.However,under the discrimination task,the participants' response to the target on the vaild side of the cue was faster than that on the invalid side of the cue,indicating that implied motion cue may shift spatial attention from bottom to top,the intensity of this attentional shift is relatively weak,only appeared in the more difficult discrimination task.Study 2 was the cue-target paradigm with 75% valid condition,in which the cues in both tasks lead to the cue effect,and participants can actively shift their attention to the space on the valid side of the stimulus cue,indicating that the process of cue shifting spatial attention may be top-down processing.Study 3 was the cue-target paradigm with 25% valid condition.In both tasks,participants were found to be able to actively shift their attention to the opposite direction of the cue,and significant cue expected effects were observed in all three SOA.Moreover,there was no significant difference in the cue effect size between study 2 and study 3 under the contrary cue percentage,indicating that when top-down factors appeared,attentional shift was more regulated by the brain from top to bottom.To sum up,in the unpredictive cue-target paradigm,implied motion cues can shift attention.In the proportion of cues with high or low predictability,the spatial attentional shift of individuals is further enhanced in the corresponding direction,and the discrimination task can trigger a larger cue effect size than the detection task.When the valid cue percentage is 50%,implied motion cue can cause of spatial attentional shift from bottom to top,this kind of bottom-up processing can be produced by the individual's perceptual experience,but the effect is weaker.When the cue proportion is increased or decreased,it will generate expectation for the position where the target is more likely to appear,and the individual's attention shifting is more regulated by the brain from top to bottom.
