On Zhang Ling's Novel Creation And The Prototype Of The Bible

In recent years,Zhang ling,as a Chinese-Canadian writer,has gradually entered the field of readers and researchers with her works.Canada is a multi-ethnic country.It is also the second largest immigrant country in the Americas after the United States.Immigrants account for the majority of its population.Under such a social background,the coexistence and co-prosperity of diverse cultures are of great importance to the future of Canada,among which the Christian culture has become the mainstream belief of Canada.As a devout Christian and living in Canada with a strong Christian atmosphere,Zhang ling was deeply influenced by the Christian culture.It is not difficult for us to find the cultural archetypes of the Bible in her novels.Zhang ling even directly quoted the words of the Bible for many times in her novels,which shows the influence of Christian culture on her.This paper takes archetypes related to the Bible as the entry point and the theory of archetypal criticism of Northrop Frye as the tool to deeply explore the archetypes of the Bible in Zhang ling's novels.This paper examines the deep connection and significance between Zhang ling's works and the Bible,and then explores the spiritual connection and individual practice of religion in contemporary writers.Starting from the three aspects of "the cultural image related to the Bible","the biblical character archetypes" and "the biblical theme archetypes",this paper fully excavates and carefully analyzes the creative application of the biblical elements in Zhang ling's creation,so as to make some contribution to the research work on Zhang ling's novels on the basis of predecessors.
