He Lin's "New Psychology" And Its Contemporary Value Research

Mr.He Lin's early creation of New Idealism is one of the important philosophical systems of Contemporary New Confucianism,which also establishes his representative position in Contemporary New Confucianism.In the particular historical period of China in the first half of the 20 th century,from a historical and dialectical point of view,New Idealism has its important academic value and practical enlightenment.New Idealism is mainly embodied in He Lin's two monograph: A Brief Interpretation of New Idealism,and Culture and Life,which are composed of more than 50 academic papers.Therefore,we divide New Idealism into two parts: one is philosophical theory,the other is cultural and ethical reality,which are also the two clues of this paper.The greatest contribution of New Idealism lies in its philosophical theory.He Lin holds that the history of philosophy is “the process of rationalizing everything”.In essence,New Idealism is to introduce Kant and Hegel's philosophy to supplement Confucianism's lack of rational spirit,and to develop the category of intellectuality for the basis of metaphysics of scientific knowledge and the category of rationality for the basis of metaphysics of morality.Through rational speculation on the subject's consciousness and knowledge,New Idealism constructs a relatively complete ontology,epistemology,knowledge and action view,methodology and cultural view,and through the rational spirit combining Confucian Mind with Reason,the logical relationship among these five parts is established.This fundamentally changed the Confucian tradition of thinking in a certain direction according to either the mind or the reason.However,confined to the ideal pursuit and problem consciousness of Contemporary New Confucianism,New Idealism could not satisfy the initiative and revolutionary requirements of Chinese social practice at that time,although it had a harmonious rationality and cognitive initiative,and researched many cultural and ethical issues.This leads to the regret of the reality of New Idealism.This paper elaborates how Mr.He Lin succeeded in inheriting the Confucian tradition of mind,taking the integration of China and the West,the integration of ancient and modern as the path,and taking the establishment of the rational spirit of Confucianism as the development goal,and successfully constructed a theoretical system of Confucian mind in the true modern philosophical form;and emphatically introduces the concept of logical mind which Mr.Helin creatively put forward.Finally,the relationship between New Idealism and modern New Confucianism and Chinese modern philosophy is sorted out,and the Enlightenment of New Idealism to the current social culture and ethical construction is discussed according to Mr.He Lin's original intention.
