An Analysis Of The Connotation Of Aitmatov's "White Ship" From The Perspective Of Ecocriticism

As a new trend of criticism,ecocriticism has its complicated social,academic and philosophical background,and at the same time has the nature of literary criticism and cultural criticism.Nature has always been one of the eternal and important motifs in Russian literature.Russian ecological literature,with its rich national cultural accumulation,profound natural philosophy and strong sense of crisis,is based on the world ecological literature and becomes the promoter and disseminator of new civilization.Aitmatov(1928-2008)is a representative of the Russian ecological literature in the20 th century writer,his works became a sensation in ? The White Ship ? literary ecology,but also become the peak of the writer.In ? The White Ship ?,the author focuses on his hometown--kyrgyzstan.For the phenomenon that human beings destroy the laws of nature,the author uses his unique creative style to show a serious sense of responsibility and strong ecological care.This thesis will study ? The White Ship ?from the perspective of ecocriticism.This paper analyzes the ecological consciousness of ? The White Ship ? through three aspects of ecocriticism,namely natural ecology,social ecology and spiritual ecology,in order to reveal the ecological concern of Aitmatov,which is helpful for us to deeply understand the essence of ecological crisis and comprehend the development process of human spirit.
