Buddhism was introduced to the mainland from the time of the Han Dynasty, and it was only in the Wei and Jin Dynasties that it showed its prosperous vitality in social development. After entering the Sui and Tang Dynasties, thanks to the social peace and openness and tolerance,Buddhism can deeply implant the essence of Chinese culture. The easiest and most intuitive way to understand how Buddhist ideology and culture profoundly transforms Chinese social and cultural customs is to analyze the behaviors and expressions expressed by the monks and nuns in the historical period.Because Buddhism believes that the monks are one of the "three treasures",they not only shoulder the heavy responsibility of practicing and guarding and promoting the Buddhism, but also the spokesperson of Buddhism in the world. Therefore, their every move always has a special religious meaning. In particular,Buddhism has different developments in different historical periods.Through the analysis and study of the behaviors and behaviors of this social group,on the one hand,it can show the social development characteristics of Buddhism in this period,on the other hand,it can understand some social customs in its corresponding historical stage. In the early Song Dynasty, the summary of the novels written by the gover nment,"Tai Ping Guang Ji",collected many wild history and novels from the Qi n and Han Dynasties to the Five Dynasties and Song Dynasties. It has considera ble historical value. Therefore, this article was selected as "Tai Ping Guang Ji".The story of the monks and nuns with more obvious subjective activities is the object of study.Through research,it is found that the monks and nuns in these stories generally appear in two types when they interact with the public, that is,the appearance is different from ordinary people,or they are full of magical ski lls.No matter what the abnormality is,it is often done in a multitude of good deeds to promote the teachings of Buddhism, but there are also many devils,an d such monks are slightly more than those in the middle and the Tang Dynasty. In particular, after combining all the backgrounds of the story of the Muni stor y,it can be found that the story of "Tai Ping Guang Ji" and the monks and nu ns mostly occurred in the Sui and Tang Dynasties. The emergence of this situati on,on the one hand, was due to the development of Buddhism in the Sui and Tang Dynasties, which laid the foundation for many stories of monks and nuns;on the other hand,it also created a new literary genre with a long period of ti me and the emergence of a new literary genre in the Tang Dynasty. And the fa ctors that have a good preservation condition are related. This situation can be c onfirmed from the analysis of the story of the "Tai Ping Guang Ji".In addition, from the geographical distribution of these story, the spread of Buddhism in var ious regions in the Middle Ages is closely related to the social economy develo pment of the region, that is,the higher the level of social and economic develop ment, the more prosperous the development of Buddhism.Although the story of the monks and nuns in "Taiping Guangji”is full of literary color, its historical background is always true.Combining the social and historical background of the time, and analyzing these documents from a macroscopic perspective,we can find that these stories echoes the developmental characteristics of Buddhism in the Middle Ages, that is,the development of Buddhism in the Middle Ages highlights the secularization and folk transformation in order to adapt to the new development situation.Characteristics.The reason for this feature is not only influenced by the objective factors such as the local Confucianism and Taoism culture and the social exclusion movement, but also the subjective factors of the mutual use of Confucianism and Buddhism in the process of the Confucian ritual culture. In addition,Buddhism's own magical traditions and the theory of Esoteric Buddhism have also facilitated its secularization and folk transformation.
