Pei Du was one of the founders of resurgence of Yuan he.There are many records about Pei Du's political achievements and military achievements in Old History of the Tang Dynasty and New History of the Tang Dynasty.Pei Du was not only a famous politician in the mid-Tang Dynasty,but also had very high literary achievement:Pei Du put forward new conceptions of literary theory.His poems and ancient Chinese proses are elegant.Therefore,there are many famous poets around Pei Du,such as Wang Jian,Zhang Ji,Han Yu,Liu Yuxi,Bai Juyi and so on.Pei Du made friends with them.Pei Du made friends with different people in different periods of his life.And the poems produced in his social activities show different images of Pei Du.At present,historians in academic circles pay more attention to Pei Du.They focus on The Huai Xi war.At the same time,scholars also pay attention to Peidu's social activities by his poems in his later years in Luoyang.However,there are few studies about Pei Du's life-long poetry produced in social activities.This paper study Pei Du's poetry produced in social activities in his lifetime from several aspects:The first chapter studys the records of Pei Du in the history books written in biographical style,and knows his family.And it summarizes the influences of Pei Du's family culture on Pei Du.The Pei family lay emphasis on Confucianism,which has a great influence on Pei Du.It will summarize Pei Du's achievements in politics and military affairs and expound Pei Du's image in official history by studying his biography.In the second chapter,the author searches for the social poetry related to Pei Du.This paper summarizes social details about Pei Du,such as location,person,content of social poems and so on in three stages of his life(The first stage is from the fifth year of Zhenyuan to the thirteenth year of Yuanhe.The second stage is from the fourteenth year of Yuanhe to the fourth year of Taihe.The third stage is from the fifth year of Taihc to the fourth year of Kaicheng).And it will analyze the different images and reasons of chanage in these poems.The third chapter based on persoal case mainly summarize the specific situation of their association according to Pei Du's association with Yang Juyuan,Zhang Ji and Bai Juyi.And it reproduces change of image.Scholars do not pay much attention to the image of Pei Du in social poems.In the records of Pei Du in the history books written in biographical style,he is a virtuous vassal who inherits family culture and a great general who calms down the war.However,there are changes of Pei Du's image in social poems.In the soacial poems of the first stage,he is an aggressive person.In the soacial poems of the second stage,he is a person who is not in the inner circle.In the soacial poems of the third stage,he is an old man who pursues leisure.This paper will use the methods of material interpretation and mutual verification between literature and history to summarize the poetry and investigate the changes of Pei Du's image in the social poems.It will analyze the change of his image.
