As an international language,English is becoming more and more important.Despite the importance attached to English education in China,it is undeniable that students generally lack the ability to use spoken English.For example,"dumb English" is the result of the English teaching method that pays great attention to written English but neglects oral expression.Under this kind of exam-oriented education,students can only cope with the exam and can not communicate in spoken English,which deviates from the original intention of learning English.With the further deepening of China’s reform and opening up and the further development of social economy,higher requirements have been put forward for the training of English talents,especially the oral English ability,which has become an important index for evaluating the comprehensive language use ability of English.In 2012,our country introduced the new teaching mode of flip classroom,and applied it to mathematics,English,science and other subjects,and achieved certain teaching results.This study explores the application of the flipped classroom in oral English teaching in junior high schools,and puts forward the feasibility of the application of the flipped classroom in oral English teaching in junior high schools,with a view to providing some valuable reference for the reform of oral English teaching in junior high schools under the new curriculum to a certain extent.This paper is divided into five chapters,the main work is as follows:Firstly,on the basis of clarifying the research background,purpose and significance,this paper analyses the current situation of flip classroom research at home and abroad through reading a large number of documents,and then determines the research content and methods of this study.Secondly,it defines the concepts of traditional classroom,flip classroom and oral English teaching,and combs and analyses the theoretical basis of this study.Thirdly,taking the seventh grade oral English course as an example,this paper makes a thorough understanding of the objectives,contents and characteristics of the course,and designs a teaching plan for the application of the flipped classroom in junior high school oral English teaching combined with teaching analysis and teaching strategies.Finally,two classes of students in Grade One of M Middle School in Yangzhou City are taken as the teaching objects to carry out teaching activities.Relevant conclusions are drawn through questionnaire,classroom observation and experimental methods,so as to verify the feasibility and validity of the application of flipped classroom in oral English teaching in junior high schools,and to provide reference for further research in the future. |
