Research On Female Images In Hollywood Superhero Movies

From the end of the nineteenth century to the beginning of the twentieth century,through the prosperity of popular culture,superhero comics also ushered in a golden period of development.Development provides a wealth of material.In the 1980 s,"Superman" was put on the big screen and received wide acclaim.Since then,Hollywood in the United States has made more and more superhero stories into movies,and Hollywood superhero movies have also begun to mature.This paper focuses on the female images in Hollywood Superhero films,which are divided into five chapters.The first chapter starts with the main body of Hollywood Superhero film,defines the superhero and further defines the superhero film.Then it analyzes the development process of Hollywood superhero movies,mainly focusing on the specific development process of Marvel movie universe and DC extended universe.In the second chapter,the existing types of female characters in Hollywood Superhero films are divided into five categories.The way of character classification is based on how the female characters serve the plot,trying to include all the female characters.The third chapter analyzes the construction of female images in Hollywood superhero movies.From the perspective of semiotics,this paper explains how to use metaphorical symbols to construct female images.From the point of view of film narration,this paper specifically talks about how to use the three section narration and Oedipus narration to construct the female image.Finally,from the unique point of view of female directors,to explore the new changes in "captain of wonder" and "Wonder Woman".To explore the influence of female director's feminist concept on the construction of female characters.The fourth chapter,based on the third chapter,discusses the cultural connotation behind the construction of specific female images,supplemented by the theory of feminism to explain the cultural aspects.This paper analyzes the changes of women's image in Hollywood superhero movies based on the related theories of feminism,and gradually explains the process of women's role from tradition to independence.The fifth chapter is the conclusion.It talks about the inspiration from the changing trend of female image and the reasons behind it.From the perspective of gender dualism,the experience of female audience and the development of feminism.Finally,it summarizes the female images in the Hollywood Superhero films,the cultural connotation behind the female images and the enlightenment it brings to the subsequent Hollywood Superhero films,and what impact it will have on the audience.
