For a long time,China and Vietnam have been in good neighbourly relations.With the changes of the times,the exchanges between the two peoples have become more and more in-depth.Communication can be divided into two types:verbal communication and non-verbal communication,which are complementary and indispensable.The role of language communication is indisputable,but sometimes non-verbal communication is more important than verbal communication.According to the study of Birdeksdale,in intercultural communication,the information conveyed by language accounts for 35%of the total,while the remaining 65%is expressed by non-verbal means such as speaking manners,gestures,time and space(Yun Guibin:Non-verbal Communication and Culture.Beijing:China Media University Press,2007,P.1).This conclusion proves that non-verbal communication plays an important role in cross-cultural communication.However,in the past,researchers mainly focused on the voiced language.while ignoring the silent language,and the research results are few and far between.Non-verbal communication is an integral part of cross-cultural communication.As non-verbal communication is restricted by regional culture,although both China and Vietnam belong to Asian countries and are influenced by Confucian culture,in fact,there are cultural differences in non-verbal communication between two peoples from different regions,different cultural customs and different world outlooks.Communication can not go smoothly or even lead to misunderstanding conflicts.Therefore,the comparative analysis of non-verbal communication leans between China and Vietnam is of great significance.Non-verbal forms are rich and varied,which are closely related to human communication activities.With the differences of cultural background,mode of thinking,customs and habits,the meanings of non-verbal actions are different.The main contents of this paper are divided into the following parts:The introduction part mainly discusses the definition of non-verbal communication,the history and current situation of non-verbal communication research,and makes a simple classification of non-verbal communication,and puts forward the relationship between non-verbal behavior and cross-cultural communication.Chapter 1:The author compares and analyses the similarities and differences of non-verbal behavior between the two countries from aspects of body language,paralanguage,environment language and object language by means of Bi Jiwan's classification method.Chapter 2:In order to improve leamers'ability of intercultural communication,this paper discusses the reasons why the differences in non-verbal communication hinder communication,and puts forward effective solutions to solve communication barriers,which can be used for reference in teaching Chinese as a foreign language.Chapter ?:By introducing the role and application of teachers,rational use of non?verbal behavior in TCFL classes,the paper puts forward the matters needing attention when teachers use non-verbal behavior to assist teaching,which will help to increase the interesting content of teaching and at the same time deepen the emotional communication between teachers and students,and create a classroom atmosphere,that is,to achieve higher teaching effect.Chapter ?:Summarize the content of the full text,emphasizing the important role of non-verbal behavior in communication,deepening the understanding of the differences of non-verbal behavior between China and Vietnam can improve people's non-verbal communicative competence in cross-cultural communication,and effectively avoid cultural prejudice and cultural conflict.It is hoped that this paper can provide references for learners who like Vietnalese culture,and at the same time add colour to the good relations between China and Vietnam,which will be helpful to the spread of Chinese culture to Vietnam.
