Research On The Art Of Chinese Sand Painting

From a broad point of view,sand painting art includes many art styles which use sands as the medium.For instance,there are Tan Cheng sand painting,Rangoli,Gold-Silk color sand painting in cloisonne etc.From a narrow point of view,people usually define sand painting art in three categories:stereoscopic sand painting art,sand image art and solid sand painting art.For stereoscopic sand painting art,it mainly refers to solid bottle painting and sand sculpture art;for the sand image art,it mainly refers to sand animation and sand painting performing art,in general,Sand image art is an innovation and vivid art form,which uses sand as the medium and combines with painting,music,lighting,photography,etc.For instance,In 2003,Ferenc Cako hold a sand animation performance named "Genesis" at the Korean international cartoon animation festival,the video of the performance spread to China very quickly;since then,China's sand image art has developed gradually.Up until now,sand painting is still a relatively "young" art form,compared with stereoscopic sand painting art,sand image art is developing more rapidly and actively.In this paper,the author studies and analyzes the characteristics and current status of the development of the sand painting art in various forms of art performance.With the domestic and foreign typical sand painting artists as the research objects,the comparison of China and western sand painting arts,and the characteristics of the sand painting art in China will be summarized at well.At the end of this paper,the author explores the development trend of sand painting art and the main challenges facing at present.From the current development status of sand painting,the author believes that the expressions and ideological connotations of the work are still insufficient to support its status in the field of fine arts.
