Okakura Tenshin's Research On Ancient Chinese Fine Arts

This thesis is based on the background of the late 19th century to the early 20th century,discussing the interpretation and research of ancient Chinese art and aesthetic theory by the Japanese,the compilation of art history of ancient Chinese,and the collection of ancient Chinese art,as well as his active translation to the West and dissemination of Chinese fine arts and culture of academic activities as a comprehensive objective.Through careful review of the relevant works of Okakura,this paper tries to absorb and refer to many previous achievements made by other researchers both domestic and abroad,to sketche a clear and complete academic portrait of the rich content of researches of Chinese art history in which Okakura had been engaged in,at the same time,to refer to the origin of Okakura's thoughts and ideas And his academic value and historical influence on the research activities of Chinese art history.
