Installation art has inherited the traditional and developed into an artistic genre and an art media ecology with the most typical experimental mindset and the spirit of exploration. As a traditional media for art expression, ceramics are also challenged by the contemporary context of "innovative development" in China. In this sense,it is,to some extent,of great importance to combine ceramics into the context of installation art,the properties of which makes the two a perfect match.Taking this as the theme, the technique of contemporary experimental art could be used to restructure the identity and positioning of installation art, thus leading the ceramic installation art to an art media with unique discourse and narrative features. This thesis primarily discusses the connections between ceramic art and installation art, including their sources, craftsmanship, texture, way of expression and their current respective status.Additionally, the reporter further analyses the social concern and value delivery of the artistic creation besides its aesthetic value, taking the ceramic installation work of "Barbaric Growth of Sharing Bicycles" and its derivative image creation as an example. To summarize, the artists should attach vital importance to the humanistic concern when producing a ceramic installation piece from an impressive point of view and with complementary techniques and artistic presentation. This can be clarified as caring about the contemporary social development and the reality itself as a responsible observer and participant, and reflecting social problems and what people in this age are concerned about.Only in this way can the artists play,in real sense,a positive role in artistic feedback and social influence.
