Both China and India have rich and profound style theories of classical poetics.By sorting out the style theories of Chinese Classical Poetics,I find that they show the following characteristics: they attach great importance to personal style, the style has experienced a process of continuous enrichment, flourishing and declining, the style types have been refined and enriched, and the expression methods of style theories are rich and varied.Through the analysis of the style theory of Sanskrit Poetics,it is found that it attaches importance to the language style and ignores the personal style.Through comparative study,it is found that the similarities of Chinese and Indian classical poetics style theory lie in the fact that they all have a four-in-one style core of content, form, method and effect, and they all agree that different styles can be combined. The reason is that the thought of the unity of Tian and Ren in China and the thought of the unity of Brahman and Atman in India have the characteristics of unity and harmony. The difference between Chinese and Indian classical poetics is that: First, the Chinese Classical Style Theory focuses on individual style, while the Sanskrit Style Theory thinks that it is difficult to tell in detail. The first reason is that China has lyrical tradition and India has epic narrative tradition. The second is that most of Chinese literatures are written by individuals, while Indian literatures are written by oral group.Secondly, the style of Chinese and Indian classical poetics presents different features in terms of style, and the reason lies in their different aesthetic objects and ranges.Thirdly, the Sanskrit Style Theory emphasizes the language style, while the Chinese Classical Style Theory is relatively weak in language style. This is because that China has a writing tradition and values writing(hieroglyphics),while India has an oral tradition and values language(phonetics and semantics).Fourth, the Chinese Classical Style Theory contains the content of the style of The Times, while the Sanskrit Style Theory does not involve the style of The Times.
