The 18 th century was a process of reform and gradual Westernization in Russia.During this period,Peter I,Catherine II and other rulers have implemented some reform measures, breaking the closed state of Russia and promoting the modernization of Russia.Among them,in terms of education,in order to improve the cultural level of the nobility, meet the needs of bureaucratic institutions and the various types of construction undertakings in the country, and improve the efficiency of government work, the rulers develop aristocratic education and establish various vocational schools, aristocratic grade schools, and aristocratic girls' schools. Also, they sent aristocrats to study abroad. To a certain extent,it promoted the development of Russian secular education, and the literacy rate of Russian aristocrats as a whole has also been improved. On this basis,it promoted the birth of Russian intellectuals, and also facilitated the ideological emancipation of aristocratic women. It also had a profound impact on the development of Russian elite politics in the future. So it has a positive historical significance. At the same time, the development of Russian aristocratic education has also led to the intensification of differentiation between upper-level aristocrats and lower-level civilians. And the blind study of Western Europe has also led to the neglect of Russian traditional culture and other problems, which had a certain negative impact. But the positive significance of the development of Russian aristocratic education in the 18 th century cannot be denied.
