Research On Indonesia TITI Shadow Puppetry

There are many kinds of Wayang dramas in Indonesia,including classical Wayang purwa,Wayang Modern,Wayang Beber,Wayang Golek,Wayang Kulit,Java Yang(Wayang Jawa),Bali Yang(Wayang Bali),etc.There is a form of shadow puppet show in the high-quality wow drama,called TITI shadow puppet play.The content plot of this shadow puppet show is a classic Chinese story,but with a distinctive Javanese style.Between 1925 and 1967,this new form of shadow play appeared in Yogyakarta,Central Java,Indonesia.It was called Central Java Play(WACINWA),also known as TITI Shadow Play,and was created by Gan Thwan Sing,a Chinese descendant.)Created and transformed on the basis of inheriting the traditional elements of Chinese shadow puppetry.TITI shadow play is a new art form created by the fusion and interaction of Chinese culture and Indonesian culture.This article examines this cultural project from the aspects of the history of TITI shadow play,the absorption and influence of TITI shadow play in Indonesia,the social function of TITI shadow play,and the unique role culture of TITI shadow play.The continuation of one's own cultural factors and the cultural fusion to adapt to the local social culture lead to alienation.
