Research On The Chain Of Events In The "Shi" Sentences In Modern Chinese

The semantic relation before and after the shi sentence is relatively complex,among which the shi sentences with both the former and the latter components as sub-events is more complex than the general shi sentences.In this paper,the shi sentences with event chain are investigated,and the event chain types of shi sentences are analyzed in detail under the framework of event structure.This dissertation is composed of 6 chapters as follow:The introduction mainly summarizes the research object and content,the research significance and method and the related research progress.Chapter 1,2,3 and 4 are the main part of this paper.From the perspective of event structure,the author classifies the event chain in the shi sentences and mainly focuses on the event chain relationship in the shi sentences.Chapter 1 examines the chain of events that have an equivalence and categorization relationship.The before and after components of a shi sentence containing an equivalent event chain relation have the same event semantics,which can be divided into two categories: shi with the same function category of the before and after components and shi with different function category of the before and after components.The before and after components of a shi sentence containing the chain of categorizing events represent the semantic relationship between the events of elements and classes,which can be divided into two categories: the chain of categorizing events with the same functional category of the before and after components of shi and the chain of categorizing events with different functional categories of the before and after components of shi.Chapter 2 examines the chain of events in which there is a relationship between cause and effect and purpose.The shi sentences contains the chain of causal events,and the antecedent and antecedent components of shi have the causal relationship.From the perspective of structure,it can be divided into two categories: causal chain of events with the same functional category of components before and after shi and causal chain of events with different functional categories of components before and after shi.From the perspective of semantic relation,it can be divided into cause before effect and effect before Cause..From the perspective of event hierarchy,it can be divided into two categories: single event chain and compound event chain.Contain objective relation of the chain of events shi word,shi before and after the composition has the purpose of relationship,often marked by such as to or for word.From the perspective of structure,it can be divided into two categories: the chain of objective relation events with the same functional categoryof components before and after shi and the chain of objective relation events with different functional category of components before and after shi.From the perspective of event hierarchy,it can be divided into single event chain and compound event chain.Chapter 3 examines the chain of events that govern and state relationships.The word shi contains the chain of dominant relation events,and its antechamber and antechamber have dominant relation,which is equivalent to the predicate relation in syntactic structure.The sentence shi contains the statement relation event chain,and the pre and post components of shi have the statement relation,which is equivalent to the subject-predicate relation in the syntactic structure.Structurally,it can be divided into two categories: the chain of objective relation events with the same functional category of components before and after shi and the chain of objective relation events with different functional category of components before and after shi.From the perspective of event hierarchy,the chains of events that govern and state the relationship belong to the single chain of events.Chapter 4 investigates the chains of other relations,including the chains of hypothetical relations,the chains of transition relations,the chains of conditional relations and the chains of sequence relations.From the perspective of structure,these event chains are all shi with the same functional category of before and after components.From the perspective of event hierarchy,they all belong to the composite event chain.The conclusion part mainly summarizes the research content of this paper,states the limitations of the research,as well as the problems to be studied and analyzed.
