As the guiding ideology of the Chinese Communist Party, the Marxist theory and its popular propaganda have always been valued by the Chinese Communist Party. With the adjustment of the organization after 1927,“social science fever” in the late 1920 s and the rise of nationalism, the popular propaganda develops and promotes the Marxism to take a more important role in the ordinary's life.As a set of rigorous and abstract theoretical system, the reason why the Marxist theory can be accepted by the public is inseparable from popular propaganda as an intermediary to carry out some vivid and concrete transformation of the theory.Understanding the intermediary role of popular propaganda can help to understand the existence of the Marxist theory in life and provide reflections on the relationship between literature and revolution. In order to solve the problem of the existing Marxist popularization research's inadequate summary of the propaganda activities and related texts, the thesis refers to the study of the Left-wing literature, takes the popular propaganda activities from 1927 to 1937 as clues, and uses the progressive magazines of the 1920 s and 1930 s as the material, focusing on the way popular propaganda interprets the concepts and principles of the Marxism, and the way the publicists using the Marxist theory to help readers to solve the problem, thus to find out how the propaganda texts "translate" the Marxist theory into instructions in life. The thesis is divided into three parts: the introduction, the body and the conclusion. The introduction introduces the relevant research of the Marxist popular propaganda and the research method of the thesis. And the first chapter introduces the political and economic conditions of the 1920 s and 1930 s,analyzing the spontaneous theoretical needs in the social situation, and the second chapter analyzes the social and cultural foundations that require popular propaganda. The third chapter analyzes the promotion of Marxist theory by the Chinese Communist Party, and the fourth chapter analyzes the characteristics of popular propaganda works. The conclusion of the thesis is that popular propaganda uses more words with meaning of "difference" and "conflict",which can instruct readers to pay more attention to the injustice in their lives and think about the related social factors and it can be the driving force of the revolution. And by praising the fighting spirit and encouraging individuals to join the organization, the elaboration of the theory can connect with the actual revolutionary activities. As a result, the Marxist theory presents as specific cognitive models and rules of conduct in life through popular propaganda.
