Life-history strategy refers to the individual under their own limited energy,how to allocate resources effectively weigh the tendency of different weigh tend to produce different strategies,the strategy contains the slow and fast strategy,including fast strategy is more adventurous,more impulsive,tend to emphasize the instant gratification,but slow strategy,by contrast,is active avoidance of risk taking,less impulsive behavior.The research indicates that the use of the fast and slow strategies is closely related to the physical and mental health of the elderly.Among the influencing factors of life history strategy,economic status and motivational strategy are especially important.Among them,socio-economic status,as an environmental factor affecting life history strategy,mainly includes childhood socio-economic status and current socio-economic status,which have different impacts on life history strategy.Research proves that the socio-economic status of childhood influences the life history strategy of young people through the control striving.No research has focused on how the socio-economic status of the elderly,especially the current socio-economic status,affects the life history strategy of the elderly,and whether the socio-economic status can affect the life history strategy of the elderly through motivational control striving.Growth environment has its particularity of the elderly in our country,from the early stages of the founding of new China to the reform and opening up,the elderly from poverty to a well-fed process is relatively fast,and control striving for the elderly more than adults is different.Therefore,this study aims to investigate the influence of current socio-economic status on life history strategy and the mediating role of control strivingThis study used a questionnaire survey to survey 350 elderly people in Tianjin and Tangshan.The questionnaire contains three scales: socio-economic status scale,which is used to measure the socio-economic status of the elderly in childhood and the current socio-economic status;The primary-secondary control optimization scale was used to measure the control striving in the elderly.The life history strategy of the elderly used the Mini-k scale.The results show that:(1)The life history strategies of the elderly differ significantly in monthly income level,education level and city.The higher the monthly income level and the higher the education level,the higher the score of life history strategy,that is,the older people tend to adopt the slow strategy of life history strategy.(2)Compared with the socio-economic status of childhood,the current socio-economic status has more important influence on the control striving and life history strategy of the elderly.The current socio-economic status,control striving and life history strategy are positively correlated,control striving has a positive predictive effect on life history strategy.(3)The current socio-economic status has a significant mediating effect on life history strategy through control striving,and control striving plays a part in mediating effect.That is,the current e socio-economic can directly affect the life-history strategy,and it can also affect the life history strategy through the control striving.The results confirmed that the elderly current socio-economic status influence survival strategy through control striving for the mediating role of psychological mechanism,the results show that the control striving can be influenced by improving the current economic status of elder so as to adopt the sloe strategy in the life history strategy,thus reducing the elderly impulse and risk-taking,the circumvention of the elderly because of the pursuit of even meet the threat to health.
