Research On Characteristic Words Of Chongqing Dialect

The study of dialectal characteristic words can orientate dialects and provide vocabulary basis for dialect division which is help to make up for the deficiencies of dialect division based on phonetic conditions.On the basis of previous studies on Chongqing dialect and Li Rulong's theory of "dialectal characteristic words",110 individual characteristic words and 345 relational characteristic words of Chongqing dialect were extracted by contrasting dialectal materials.And from the synchronic and diachronic perspectives,the individual characteristics of Chongqing dialect were studied comprehensively.At the same time,the relationship between Chongqing dialect and other dialects was investigated from the number of characteristic words shared by Chongqing dialect and other dialects.This paper mainly has five parts:Firstly,the research status of Chongqing dialect,the theory of "dialect characteristic words" and its research results,the purpose and significance of this study,as well as the research materials and methods of this paper were introduced.In the second chapter,the extraction methods and steps of Chongqing dialect characteristic words were introduced in detail.Then the individual characteristic words extracted was verified by questionnaire survey to ensure the accuracy and scientificity of the extraction results.Finally,the characteristic of Chongqing dialect was summarized,and the international phonetic symbols,meanings and explanations of individual features of Chongqing dialect were marked and illustrated with examples.In the third chapter,the individual characteristic words of Chongqing dialect was investigated from synchronic and diachronic perspectives.From the synchronic point of view,syllables,parts of speech,sense,meaning category and word-formation were mainly examined.From a diachronic point of view,the inheritance words,variant words and innovative words among the characteristic words of Chongqing dialect were investigated.In the fourth chapter,the relationship between Chongqing dialect and other dialects was analyzed by the statistics of the number of Chongqing dialect relational characteristic words which shared by each major dialect area and official dialect slice.Then it comes to the conclusion that Chongqing dialect is closely related to Southwest Mandarin and Hunan dialect.Finally,some conclusions were drawn from the analysis of previous chapters in the fifth chapter.And a brief summary of the full text was made,and the shortcomings of this paper.
