Research On The History And Current Situation Of Red Color Words

In recent years,color words have been paid more and more attention because of their particularity and importance.Scholars have discussed it from the perspectives of culture,translation,cognitive linguistics,and so on.On the basis of previous studies,in order to seek the continuity and detail of the research,this paper chooses the representative red color words as the research object.First of all,the standard of red color words selected in this paper is determined,On this basis,the corpus is collected from various dictionaries and corpus systems,a total of 92 ancient red color words and 128 modern red color words were collected.Secondly,this paper makes a diachronic analysis of the red color words in the two periods,discusses the main reasons and the characteristics of the ancient red color words;And found that the modern red color words are different from the ancient ones,forming a group of words of the same family with "red" as the core,and discussing their semantic characteristics and composition.In addition,the phenomenon that the core word "red" is transferred to other domains on the basis of color meaning is also discussed.Then through the diachronic comparison,we find that the red color words have changed in quantity,derivation,core vocabulary and vocabulary structure,and explain the causes of the changes from the internal and external aspects.Finally,combined with the actual teaching of Chinese as a foreign language,some teaching suggestions are put forward in view of the various problems of foreign students' acquisition of red color words,in order to provide new ideas and methods for the teaching of red color words.
