The Debate On Modernization Before The Founding Of New China And Its Enlightenment

Due to China's history,its modernization effort must deal with internal and worldwide influences.The internal part of this effort must be made in the chaos of China's historical trends.China's modernization exploration has to be carried forward in the chaos of historical trends.On one hand,the Chinese people actively study the achievements of modern civilization in other countries and actively integrate modern trends;on the other hand,in the process of advancing,they reflect on the sum of those trends,constantly update them with their own ideas,and find new development paths.In the debates about Modernization,people has gradually discovered that the evolution path of human civilization is not unique.Only by building a new,modern framework based on the reality of their country's development can they achieve true breakthroughs and completely solve social development problems.This paper uses the modern theoretical perspective to consider the debate on modernization before the founding of New China.Through the grasp of the integrity and coherence of modernization,according to the development of modern thinking logic and the degree of modern exploration,the debate on modernization before the founding of New China is examined from three aspects.The debate about modern means,the debate about modern roads,the debate about modern models.This paper is divided into three parts.The first chapter is a general introduction to the overall development of China's modernization.First,it introduces the notion of modernization in accordance with the four stages of China's modernization development: the early “Westernization,” the transition from “Westernization” to “modernization,” the stage of socialist modernization in the early days of the founding of the country,and the stage of modernization and rapid development based on national conditions.Secondly,it summarizes and comprehensively illuminates the characteristics of the development process of China's modernization.Finally,it describes the historical background of the pre-establishment modernization debate before the founding of New China.Three elements of the background are focused on: how China missed the initiative to develop modernization,the roots of the early modernization exploration,and the change in the Chinese people's understanding of modernization.The second chapter details the specific situation of the three aspects of modernization: means,paths and models.In the debates about Modern means,It introduces two main arguments,analyze their essences,and finally summarize the relationship between modern practice and social development,and explain how to use modern means to achieve social development.In the debate about modern paths,it explains the essence of the two issues discussed by the two sides of the debate: why did China finally choose Marxism,and finally analyze and comment on realistic conditions required to immediately implement socialism.In the debate about modern models,it describes the development of the Western European and Soviet models before the founding of the New China and analyze the feasibility of these two models for China according to its national conditions.Finally,the chapter reveals the historical basis for China to embark on an independent development path.The third chapter gives an overall comment on the modernization debate,refines the three characteristics reflected in the modernization debate,analyzes the three shortcomings in the process of modernization debate,and makes a prospect for the development of China's socialist modernization in the new era.It is proposed that the current modernization of China should be carried forward in the future,continue to adhere to the socialist path with Chinese characteristics,grasp the law of generality and particularity of modern development and Promote the sustainable and healthy development of modernization with comprehensive deepening reforms.
