On Studying MaoZedong's Modernization Thoughts

Modernization is a global large-scale change in society which emerged after the human society developed into modern times. This is the significant trend of the development of the world history in modern times. Modernization is the process of change from the traditional agricultural society to modern industrial society , it changes and improves the economic, politices, ideological and cultural. All the countries and nations in the world will invovle in this trend sooner or later, voluntarily or forcedly. The reason why China invovled into this trend is the colonial aggression of the Western capitalist, which is also the reason why the modernization of the Chinese nation became a major issue. Mao Zedong is a pioneer and founder of chinese socialist cause. In order to achieve the lofty goal of the modernization, Mao Zedong combined the universal principles of Marxism-Leninism with China's socialist modernization construction practice, which gradually formed China's modernization thoughts of Mao Zedong with hard efforts. This thesis studies the thoughts and expounds the successful experiece and failure lessons, which are important in theory and practice to construct building socialism with Chinese characteristics.This article is divided into four parts.Part one: It analyzes the times background of generation and development of the Mao Zedong's modernization thought. And its social basis is the background of being lagged behind and bullied. The victory of the New Democratic Revolution provided the precondition for the modernization thoughts of Mao Zedong, and the changes of world's pattern promoted its progress.Part two: It analyzes the content and characteristics deeply and comprehensively of Mao Zedong's modernization thought. To achieve industrialization is the starting point of China's modernization.Mao Zedong was well aware that the development of industrialization is national independence and the security of the country's prosperity.In order to get rid of the economic backwardness and achieve real independence, we must realize industrialization. Mao Zedong gradually developed a comprehensive, systemetic modernization system, including the modernization of economy, politics, culture, national defense and the people and so on. The modernization thoughts of Mao Zedong is rich in content, and it also showed some features such as integrity, openness and innovation and so on.Part three: It introduces the main contributions and mistakes of Mao Zedong's modernization thought. Mao Zedong's modernization thought theoretically contributes to modernization construction of China. He pointed out that we must go our own modernization road, contradiction is still the power to promote the society develop, adhering to the basis of an independent self-reliance to foreign study. The contribution of the modernization thoughts of Mao Zedong is enormous, but it also has some mistakes. This shows that the modernization of his theories are not mature and systematic. However, his thought achievements and practical experience set the basis for forming more mature and systemectic socialist modernization theories.Part four: It analyzes the inspiration of Mao Zedong's modernization for developing the Chinese characteristics socailism. In order to achieve the modernization, we must adhere to the development direction of socialist modernization, treat dialectically the relationship between the productive forces and productive relations, and fully realize the protracted nature and arduousness of the modernization construction of our country.
