The North Korean nuclear crisis is one of the most noticeable international hot issues in the world. The U.S.policy toward the DPRK has greatly affected the direction of the nuclear crisis. Before the outbreak of the North Korean nuclear crisis, the United States had intervened in the affairs of the Peninsula.Since then, the emergence, outbreak and escalation of each nuclear crisis in the DPRK are also related to the U.S.policy towards the DPRK.For reasons of American political system and leadership's ruling idea, every government's policy toward DPRK is different. From the policy of "pigeon contact" in Clinton administration, the policy of "hawk contact" in Bush administration, the policy of "strategic tolerance" in Obama administration to the policy of "flexible response" in Trump administration, all of these have effected the trend of the DPRK nuclear issue.Taking the nuclear crisis of North Korea as an opportunity, the United States strengthened the military alliance system of the U.S.-Japan and the U.S.-South Korea. At the same time the U.S.increased its military input in Northeast Asia,in order to guarantee the power in Northeast Asia. The U.S.military investment in Northeast Asia not only maintains its hegemony in the world and protects the security of its allies, but also affects the inter-state relations in the region.A series of U.S.sanctions against the DPRK have made the life stander of the people in the DPRK worse and worse. While the U.S.itself has also endured tremendous economic and public opinion pressure from all sides. After the Trump took office,he adjusted the U.S.policy toward North Korea, restarted the dialogue between the United States and North Korea, postponed the nuclear test process, and initially improved relations between the two countries.
