This paper focuses on the formation of modern copyright system in Britain.It is well known that the signature event of the modern copyright system was the promulgation of the Statute of Anne in 1710.This article examines the historical development of British copyright in the middle of the 18 th century by placing the Statute of Anne in the course of the historical development of British copyright in the middle of the 18 th century.After analyzing the causes and consequences of the promulgation of the Statute of Anne,this paper focuses on " Battle of the Booksellers" after the Statute of Anne,and explores and observes the change of the core rights of copyright system in the political and judicial fields during this special period.The influence of " Battle of the Booksellers " on the copyright system in Britain can be reflected in the judicial jurisprudence and author's monographs in the late 18 th century and 19 th century.In this period,the author's rights really appeared.At the same time,the United States was also deeply influenced by the British copyright system.In order to explore the British modern copyright system,this paper will be divided into six parts.The first part is the introduction,which mainly introduces the basis of the topic selection,the problems raised,the significance of the formation of the modern copyright system in the Britain,the arrangement of relevant literature and viewpoints on the history of copyright and the nature of the Statute of Anne by scholars at home and abroad.The main research methods used in this paper as well as the structure of the article and so on.The second part focuses on the birth of the British copyright system in English law before the promulgation of the Statute of Anne.The rise and decline of printing patent system and the emergence of booksellers' association have laid a certain foundation for the development of copyright.The third part focuses on the Statute of Anne as a key factor in the British modern copyright system.This part first reviews the direct causes of the promulgation of the Statute of Anne,and then examines the efforts of booksellers to seek new legislation before the promulgation of the Statute of Anne.At last,it will analyze in detail the implementation of the Statute of Anne and the exploration of its nature.The fourth part mainly studies " Battle of the Booksellers ",which has a profound influence on copyright system in the later period of "Anne Law".This part focuses on the efforts made by booksellers during the " Battle of the Booksellers " and the success or failure of the efforts made by booksellers during the period of " Battle of the Booksellers ".And see the core concept of copyright system in the judicial judgment.The fifth part focuses on the end of the 18 th century and the 19 th century after the Battle of the Booksellers.Through the interpretation of judicial jurisprudence and literary works in this stage,the subject of the author really occupies the primary position.At the same time,it explores the development situation of the United States as a new country under the influence of British copyright system.The sixth part,as a summary,the formation of British copyright system as a system is a dynamic process,each stage has different emphasis,the development of the system is gradually refined,during which the continuity and inclusiveness of British law are highlighted.
