The 2016 Olympic Games in Rio debuted on August 21 st.China is ranked 26 th with 18 golds,18 silvers, and 26 bronzes.Among them, the Chinese Women's Volleyball Team advanced to the quarterfinals with the fourth place in the group, and defeated Brazil, the Netherlands, and Serbia in the elimination rounds, winning the gold medal. In the volleyball game, there is always an opposing struggle between attack and defense. The two are interdependent and mutually restrictive relations.Although the Chinese women's volleyball team has won the Rio Olympic championship,it is not easy to win the championship. There are still gaps in the offensive and defensive links between the Chinese women's volleyball team and the world's top teams. There is still much room for improvement. This paper uses the literature data method, the video analysis method, the mathematical statistics method, the questionnaire survey method, the comparative analysis method, the rank sum ratio analysis method to compare the offensive and defensive ability demonstrated in the Chinese women's volleyball match with the opponent during the current Olympic Games. Conclusions are as follows:1.The Chinese women's volleyball team's height, block, and spiking height are in a dominant position;the team's age structure is younger.2.On the offensive side,(1)In the group stage: the spiking is over-reliance on the core player, and the direct scoring rate is lower than that of the opponent;the handling of the ball is normal;the use of the lobing ball is not flexible;the efficiency of the serve is higher than that of the opponent.5 Percentage points;second-pass effect is inferior to the opponent, the in-place rate is lower than the opponent 9%,and averages 3 errors per game.(2)Knockout stage: In the game against the Netherlands and Serbia, the percentage of spiking was improved by 5%compared to the group stage, and the effective rate was improved by 7% compared with the group stage;the second pass has been improved, but the in-place rate is still low.More than 2%of the opponents, there are still mistakes;the success rate of the lifting ball has been improved;the use of ball processing has been strengthened;the efficiency of serving is better than that of the opponent by 6 percentage points.3.On the defensive side,(1)In the group stage: Blocking, receiving serve is slightly better than the opponent, the rate of anti-smash placement is less than 7% of the opponent, and the turnover rate is 15% higher than the opponent;Less than 20 percentage points lower than the opponent;anti-handling ball effect is general.(2)Elimination stage: The anti-dropping ball andthe anti-handling ball have greatly improved compared to the group stage;the effect of receiving the ball is not as good as the group stage;in the blocking area, the error rate is higher than that of the opponent by 3%,and the efficiency is lower than that of the opponent.6%;The anti-smashing effect improved significantly, and the in-place rate was basically the same as that of the opponent, but the error rate was higher than the opponent's 3%.4.Chinese women's volleyball team attack strong and defend weak.In China,Serbia, the Netherlands,Brazil, and the United States, the Chinese women's volleyball team's offensive ability ranks second in the RSR value is 0.60,which belongs to the B level;the defensive ability ranks fourth in the RSR value is 0.50.At the C level, the overall offensive and defensive ability ranked second in the RSR of 0.60,which is in the same B level as Serbia, the Netherlands, and Brazil.
