The mental model was first proposed by the Scottish psychologist Kenneth Craik in 1943.After more than 70 years of development, the mental model has gradually become one of the influential ideas. The development of mental models can provide scientific and valuable suggestions for the teaching, especially the teaching of conceptual models. However, the implicitness and complexity of the mental model make scholars have not yet formed a unified understanding of the concept of the mental model, and its theoretical and practical research is in urgent need of breakthrough and enrichment."Redox" is an important core concept of chemical knowledge in junior and senior high schools. The research on the mental model of redox reaction of high school gifted students can provide suggestions for the teaching of redox reaction knowledge.First,it reviews the concepts and implications of the mental model and the related documents defined by the gifted students, and defines the concept of the mental model and the gifted student: the mental model is a dynamic representation of the individual's self-construction through observation or indirect acceptance of phenomena. The explanation of the phenomenon is a dynamic internal operating mechanism. This dynamic mechanism will affect its subsequent cognitive development and affect its response to subsequent stimuli. The gifted students are redox knowledge among students of the same age, which with significantly higher levels of cognitive development than average students. Then,The redox test questionnaire and oxidation reduction interview outline are prepared, based on the relevant research of redox mental model and the analysis of redox reaction knowledge.Secondly, using the redox test questionnaire,we measured the high school and high school students from 4 key high schools in Shandong Province, collected test data, used SPSS 21.0 statistical software for data management, and winsteps2.0 statistical software for data analysis.Select 6 students who have competency values in the top 5% and who won the competition in Shandong Chemical Olympics Competition as gifted students. Finally, interviews were conducted on six semi-structured interviews using the Oxidation-Reduction Interview syllabus to analyze the redox mental model of gifted students, and suggested the teaching of redox reaction knowledge. The research result:(1)The same high school gifted students often hold a variety of redox mental models, the main types are "electron transfer type","combined price type","mixed type".(2)High school gifted students will often choose and apply different redox mental models as their problem situations change.(2)The redoxreaction process is the most complex dimension element that constitutes the redox mental model of high school gifted students. The innovation of the thesis is mainly reflected in the following: First, from the perspective of measuring the redox mental model, combined with the analysis of the redox knowledge, the self-produced redox questionnaire is innovative to measure the student's redox mentality. The model provides a useful reference.Second, through the quantitative and qualitative empirical analysis, the type and operation mechanism of the redox mental model for high school gifted students are proposed. This model has certain novelty, and it will be used for the follow-up study of the redox mental model, which provides theoretical and practical basis.
