The Construction Of University Collective Memory

In this paper,university memory articles are used as the main reference materials,and literature methods,interviews,and online survey methods are used comprehensively to understand people's memory about the university.Based on the theoretical research of collective memory and the comprehensive analysis of collective memory theory,the content classification,characteristics,influencing factors and forming mechanism of university collective memory construction are summarized.Specifically:(1)The content of university collective memory can be roughly divided into three aspects:First,the collective memory of the characters in the university,including university teachers,classmates,faculty and staff,and other people who are impressed;the second is about the collective memory of what happened in the university,which is mainly analyzed from three aspects:study life,extracurricular activities,and diet;the third is about the collective memory of the university campus,including libraries,dormitory buildings,auditoriums,flowers and plants,and other symbolic scenery of the campus.(2)The characteristics of university collective memory construction:including the diversity of university collective memory construction subject,the richness of university collective memory emotional experience,the individual differences in university collective memory construction,and university collective memory highlighting school characteristics,local characteristics,and times characteristics.(3)Factors that influence the construction of university collective memory:traditions in universities,major events(including school celebrations,ceremonial celebrations)in universities,symbolic objects of universities,and fixed patterns formed in universities positively influence the construction of university collective memory,the location and naming of things,and the group's organizational propaganda also affects the construction of university collective memory to some extent.(4)The formation mechanism of university collective memory construction:Based on a certain group field and spatial field,the official construction of university collective memory is through the means of mass media,while the individual is constructed through practical approaches;text,photographs,etc.are commonly used forms of representation of university collective memory;by talking with old friends,the initiation of other things,and revisit university campus,people's collective memories of the university are shared and reappeared.
