Gyorgy Markus discussed the question that what is man,standing on Marxist position from the period of the Budapest School.Although his research vision and theoretical focus changed subsequently,from a fundamental point of view,he did not interrupt the thinking about this issue during entire academic career.This article studies Markus' s relating theories based on his text works.In the first chapter of this paper,we will introduce the Markus' s essence from two aspects: the present situation and the source of thought.In the second chapter,Markus' s philosophical interpretation of Marx's core concepts of labor,consciousness,and sociality is placed in the production perspective to re-examine and then,Markus' answer,the essence of human beings is attributed to a historical generation process,will be concluded by us.Afterwards,according to the changes in Markus' s research perspective,we will examine the theories related to real people,such as human life and human existence,from the perspectives of paradigm and modern cultural criticism,in the third and fourth chapters respectively.Following the previous discussion,this paper will make an overall review of his essential thoughts both the positive and negative aspects of Markus' s theory in the fifth chapter of this paper.
