Children's responsible behavior refers to children consciously fulfilling their own competencies as stipulated by their social roles,and assuming the fault arising from the incomplete tasks.As one of the core behavioral qualities that an individual must possess,responsible behavior plays a vital role in the moral and social development of young children.Since the 1980 s,the responsibility of children has become an important field in the study of children's social development in China.So far,the research on this issue mainly focuses on the responsibility of young children,and there is little research on the responsible behavior of young children.There is no systematic research on the responsible behavior of young children under the cultural background of our country.Early childhood is the embryonic stage of responsible behavior.Systematic research on the structural dimension and development level of children's responsible behavior will help people to understand better the development characteristics of children's responsible behavior and provide theoretical guidance and basis for the early cultivation of responsible behavior.Previous studies have shown that family factors are important factors affecting the development of children's sense of responsibility.However,previous studies mainly discussed the influence of parents' rearing patterns on children's sense of responsibility,and there are few studies on the influence of parental involvement in rearing.Parents,as the earliest implementers of children's socialization,are bound to permeate the transmission of social values and norms in the process of education,thus affecting the development of children's responsible behavior.Therefore,this study intends to develop a testing tool for children's responsible behavior,systematically investigate the general characteristics of children's responsible behavior,and explore the impacts of father and mother's participation in upbringing on children's responsible behavior.For this reason,this paper explores the above issues through three series of studies.The subjects came from a public kindergarten in Jinan,a private kindergarten and a public kindergarten in Linyi.There were 622 children aged from 3 to 5 and theirparents.The results show that:There are three main types of responsible behavior in China's early childhood stage: self-responsible behavior,others' responsible behavior and environmental responsible behavior.Each type of responsible behavior also contains a variety of specific sub-types of behavior.The questionnaire developed in this study has good reliability and validity,and can be used as a more effective and reliable tool for comprehensive assessment of the level of development of responsible behavior in early childhood.As far as the three main types of children's responsibility behavior are concerned,the development level of environmental responsibility behavior is the highest,that of others' responsibility behavior is the second,and that of self-responsibility behavior is the lowest.As far as the eight sub-types of children's responsible behavior are concerned,respect and politeness have the highest development level,while life and learning have the lowest development level.Among them,respect and politeness,life and safety,collective and activity,task and commitment have a higher development level,which is the main manifestation of children's responsible behavior.Nature and society,behavior and control,care and help,life and learning have a lower development level.It is the secondary manifestation of children's responsible behavior.Except that there is no significant age difference in the dimensions of life and safety,the other dimensions generally show a trend of increasing with age.The level of responsible behavior of five-year-olds is the highest,and that of three-year-olds is the lowest.Four-year-olds are the key age for the development of the main dimensions of children's responsibility behavior.Except that there is no significant gender difference in behavior and control,task and commitment,there are significant gender differences in other dimensions of children's responsible behavior.The specific performance is that the level of responsible behavior of girls is significantly higher than that of boys.There is no significant difference in the development level of responsible behavior between the only-child and the non-only-child.Mother's interaction and restraint not only have no significant predictive effect on the life and safety of children's responsible behavior,but also have significant positive predictive effect on other dimensions of children's responsible behavior.Mother's support and encouragement have significant positive predictive effect on the life and safety,care and help,respect and politeness,collective and activity of children's responsible behavior.Father's interaction and restraint have significant positive predictive effect on children's various responsible behavior.Children's gender plays a moderating role in the support and encouragement dimension of mothers' participation in upbringing,the relationship between tasks and commitments of children,nature and society.Mothers' support and encouragement have a higher positive predictive effect on girls' tasks and commitments,nature and society than on boys'.Children's gender plays a moderating role in the interaction and restraint dimension of father's participation in upbringing and the relationship between children's life and learning.The positive predictive effect of father's interaction and restraint on boys' life and learning is higher than that of girls.
