Research On Zhou Yichun's Educational Thoughts

YE TSUNG TSUR,who is the third president of Tsinghua University.He is the founder of Tsinghua fine tradition and the forgotten old headmaster.Y.T.TSUR has held many important positions in his life and made important contributions to the culture,education,politics and economic fileds.The contributions in the field of education is mostly derived from the identity of the president of Tsinghua University.Y.T.TSUR took charge of the president from October 1913 to January 1918.He is the third principal of Tsinghua University and the principal of the early Tsinghua University who has a longer term and contributed more.He plays a foudamental and guiding role in the development of Tsinghua University.However,few people know the existence of this old headmaster today,and few scholars have throughly studied his educational thoughts and practice.Therefor,on the basis of the existing research,this study tries to comb,integrate and evaluate Y.T.TSUR's educational thoughts and practice in order to carry out a more comprehensive and in-depenth study.Starting from Y.T.TSUR's life experience,this study introduces the background of the times,the origin of the family,learning experience,work experience and friendship experience.This study tries to probe into the formation and development of Y.T.TSUR's educational thoughts by combing the background and personal experience of the times.His educational thoughts sprouted in the late 19 th and early20 th centuries.Y.T.TSUR studied at St.John's University in Shanghai,Yale University and the University of Wisconsin.He was deeply influenced by the St.John model and Wisconsin ideas.During the period of Y.T.STUR's stay in the United States,it coincided with the rise of pragmatic education,and China urgently needed various professional talents to develop their careers.Therefore,Y.T.TSUR's education thoughts have pragmatic tendencies.Y.T.TSUR's educational thoughts are mainly reflected in his leadership of Tsinghua University.With the aim of creating a complete personality as his education,he actively promoted students' moral,intellectual and physical develpment,paying particular attention to the health of students 'physical and mental and the cultivation of moral qualities.He believes that education has a role in reforming society.Schools should train practitioners and service providers who can promote the development of national undertakings through vocational guidance activities and participation insocial services.He advocated the independence of education administration,funding independence,academic independence,and national education independence.He worked hard to promote the localization of Western learning.He first proposed and promoted the reform of Tsinghua University as a complete University.He advocates enriching students' extracurricular life and cultivating students' humanistic qualities and social leadership through student associations,activities and campus publications.He insisted on strict and meticulous school management,formulated a complete management system,in-depthly implemented of students' learning and life,formed the habit of doing better than saying.Y.T.TSUR's educational thoughts have had a profound influence on Tsinghua University and Tsinghua students.During Y.T.TSUR's tenure as principal,he laid a solid foundation for the development of Tsinghua University with lofty ideals,long-term vision and bold measures.He injected vitality for the development of Tsinghua University with lively campus culture,excellent campus atmosphere and upward campus spirit.He influenced the growth of studens with the advanced educational concept and excellent personality charm.At the same time,his educational thoughts contain the ideas of elite ethical education and school spirit.These ideas have become the basis for the development of Tsinghua University so far,and are also the places where we should be used for reference.
