This study takes the After-school Service as theme and uses the American and Australia as the main object of investigation.The study focuses on the American Afterschool Program and Outside School Hours Care Service in Australia.At the same time,a thorough research of the Flexible Departure from School in Nanjing was carried out.The first chapter of the thesis pays attention to the American Afterschool Program.Firstly,the paper briefly introduces the background of the American Afterschool Program.Secondly,the current situation,student characteristics,institutional characteristics,fund distribution and faculty composition are analyzed.From these perspectives,the paper has carried out a detailed analysis of implementation and guarantee of American Afterschool Program.Thirdly,the paper attaches importance to the analysis the effect of implementation.The implementation effect of the American Afterschool Program has been recognized and supported by parents.The American Afterschool Program has a positive effect and influence on improving students' confidence and study performance,building sense of security,forming a self-concept and improving students'social skills.The second chapter analyses the history,implementation and implementation effects of Outside School Hours Care Service in Australia.Outside School Hours Care Service in Australia focuses on care and entertainment.The paper also finds Outside School Hours Care Service in Australia has an positive effect on increasing identity,strengthening cognition and connection to the outside world,and fostering students' well-being.The third chapter mainly introduces the Flexible Departure from School in Nanjing and analyzes the problems that arise during the practice and the causes of the problems.The main causes of the problem are excessive government intervention,parents' over-reliance on schools,existence of teachers' negative emotions,the rigidization thinking of school and the impact of exam-oriented education.In the last part of the paper,the paper put forward suggestions by comparing the American Afterschool Program,Outside School Hours Care Service in Australia and Flexible Departure from School in Nanjing.The paper proposes to pursue the diversified development of children,seek multi-party cooperation,legislate to ensure quality and establish a diverse source of funding.
