With the development of economy and society and the progress of information technology, the society needs more and more innovative talents, while the traditional mode of knowledge imparting no longer meets the needs of cultivating innovative talents. To this end, schools across the country have launched maker education and established maker spaces.3D printing,as an important form of maker education, plays an important role in cultivating students' innovative consciousness, innovative thinking and innovative ability. However, its isolated form has not yet been associated and with the discipline, resulting in its single teaching form and unconnected teaching content with the knowledge learned. Therefore, this study aims to realize the integration of 3D printing and primary school mathematics through Learning by Design(LBD),which can not only cultivate students' ability to apply and innovate mathematical knowledge, but also break the isolated form of 3D printing and enable it to be effectively integrated with disciplines. In this study,LBD as the guiding ideology for the integration of 3D printing and primary school mathematics.Through the interpretation and analysis of the two classical models of LBD("Backward Thinking" Learning Process Model and Based on the Design of the Interpretation and Analysis of Science Inquiry Process Model). The instructional process framework of the integration of 3D printing and primary school mathematics based on LBD is constructed. The framework of instructional process deconstructs the activities of teachers and students, and adopt design-based research to gradually correct and improve the framework of instructional process through three rounds of iterative experiments. This study focused on the students in the sixth grade of the Experimental Primary School of Nanjing University of Science and Technology. The "Graphics and Geometry" part of the mathematics of the primary school of Chinese textbook(Jiangsu Education)are selected as the teaching content of the integration of 3D printing and primary school mathematics.Taking geometric volume calculation:design and make a pen container, observation and drawing of the three views:making simple splicing of small animals, solving mathematical problems:making succulent plant pots, these as the theme of three rounds of teaching experiments. The instructional design scheme of three rounds of experiments was designed by each round design and revised instructional design framework. In the three rounds teaching experiments, the author analyzed students' learning effects by classroom observation,after-class interview, learning process record analysis and work analysis. The first round of teaching experiment focuses on the student activities. In the cycle of "investigate and explore"and "design-redesign",students investigate the questions and design the works. The second round of teaching experiment focuses on the teacher activities. The teacher plays the role of the leader and the instructor in the whole topic activity, and helps the students to explore and design. The third round of teaching experiment focuses on the reflection and summary activities. To carry on the thorough excavation to the student's reflection summary activity, realizes to the knowledge thorough understanding. After three rounds of teaching experiments, the integration of 3D printing and primary school mathematics can be realized through "investigate and explore "and "design-redesign" n,and the integrated teaching effect is more reflected in the design of students' works.
