When people work for many years and finally leave their jobs, the transformation of social roles not only affects the social relations that were previously constructed and maintained by occupation, but also has a far-reaching impact on the relationship between retirees and the outside world. When the retired elderly get rid of their working life from 9 to 5,whether they can adjust their life style and mental state as soon as possible to adapt to the new life, new changes, has a direct impact on the quality of life and mental health of this group after retirement.Although the collection of population-wide problems caused by age growth has been seen as an ageing issue, and has received extensive attention from academia and all sectors of society, the depth of aging in the broader context of ageing,There is still a lack of attention to the detailed research points, such as the cross-study of retirement group and media use behavior, the research on the difference order pattern and group stratification within the retirement group, and so on.There has always been a lack of universal public concern about the social adaptation of retired urban women. In the current pluralistic media environment and complex and changeable system, this issue is no longer just an issue that needs to be paid attention to by the academic community.More in the social perspective, everyone should pay attention to the practical issues. After retirement, urban women are faced with a series of new social adaptation problems, and the process of re-socialization has become the bottleneck of womenundefineds life in this period.Based on the social adaptation of urban retired women, this paper investigates the social adaptation process of urban retired women under the new media environment. It is found that the use of new media has a significant impact on the social adaptation of retired women in urban areas.Specifically, retired women who rely heavily on the mobile phone-based new media have not achieved the desired results in their external social adaptation, and may even have inhibitory effects, such as expanding new social relations and bringing them closer to their neighbors.Participation in community activities and other aspects of the progress and results have not been obvious; However,it has a significant positive effect on its internal developmental adaptation, mainly manifested in the positive development of the relationship with family members, such as spouse, children and intergenerational,as well as the positive aspect of self-acceptance and self-value realization.
