It is known that cognition and affection interact with each other. But a classic question concerned by scholars in the field of pedagogy is that what kind of role does this interaction play in education or teaching? The answer to this question is of great significance for teachers to optimize their teaching practice. This paper focuses on the influence of affection on cognition and its pedagogical implications.Firstly, the author makes use of the relevant research results of educational neuroscience and educational psychology to sort out and summarize the inner mechanism of affection influencing cognition and its application. Then the author relates affectional impacts on cognition to former educators' educational thoughts and practice trying to point out seven basic principles of integration of cognition and affection.Namely "respect and love","acceptance, trust and expectations," "interest and freedom","cooperation and mutual assistance","recognition and incentive","aesthetic experience and enjoyment",and "self-efficacy and achievement".These seven principles embody and reflect the influence of affection on cognition. The paper assumes that students will develop faster and better if the seven principles mentioned above are followed. On the contrary, the development of students will be hindered or get into trouble. To test this hypothesis, the paper conducted individual interviews with experienced teachers in primary and secondary school. The interviewed teachers generally believe that students' affectional life and experience have a significant impact on not only their physical and mental health but also their academic performances.Good education quality depends on the organic integration of cognition and affection. In addition, the author conducted in-depth interviews with four groups of students whose scores varied significantly in a nine-year school in this city. The interviews showed that under the same premise of family economic income, physical condition and intellectual level, the more positive affectional experience they have in school or outside environment, the better their development in all aspects will be,including their academic performance. In order to know whether the teachers in primary and secondary school realize the impact of affection on cognition, and whether they can use the strategy based on the integration of cognition and affection during their teaching process consciously. The author launched a survey by handing out questionnaires to teachers and studentsof an experimental school in this city. The survey found that most teachers recognize the important influence of affection on cognitive learning correctly, besides they can apply a variety of integrated teaching strategies comprehensively while teaching. However, there are also quite a few teachers who are not familiar with the research progress related to educational neuroscience(involving "the influence of affection on cognition"),and what's more, they don't know how to carry out effective teaching practice by using the strategies of cognitive and affectional integration.Due to the deficiencies mentioned above, the paper suggests that schools should carry out special study and guide teachers to establish the concept of "promoting teaching with affection";strengthen the cultivation of teachers' ethics and enhance the awareness of "strengthen moral education and cultivate people";improve teachers' social-emotional competency in a variety of ways;use the teaching strategy of cognitive and affectional integration widely;construct a positive environment in classroom.Consequently, the consciousness and ability of teachers to carry out education and teaching practice with integrated strategies can be improved. As a result, the quality of education and teaching can be improved and meanwhile students would get a better development.
