Analysis Of Chinese Companies' Direct Investment In The US Manufacturing Industry

In the 21 st century,under the background of the continuous development of economic globalization,our economy as a whole is enhanced day and day.Meanwhile,the outward foreign direct investment of Chinese enterprises is gradually increasing.With the expansion of the scale and scope of the outward foreign direct investment of Chinese enterprises,America,which attracts foreign investment most in the world,also attracts the attention of many corporate investors from China.Chinese enterprises have been enlarging the number of the investment projects and the total investment for American manufacturing.Therefore,researching the impact of the outward foreign direct investment of Chinese enterprises to America manufacturing,the impact to national manufacturing under the growth investment for America manufacturing and how to make further improvement to our country are the main problems of this paper.This paper is divided into 5 parts.The first part is the introduction,which raising a question that studies on the general situation of the outward foreign direct investment of Chinese enterprises to American manufacturing,then elaborating the background and the significance of it,the domestic and foreign related literatures and research findings about national enterprises make investments and mergers to American manufacturing,the research methods and the research thoughts and the innovations and the insufficiencies of this paper.The second part is the theory,which is mainly written from five aspects,theory of comparative advantage,theory of marginal industry expansion,theory of small-scale technology,theory of monopolization superiority and theory of international investment by Dunning.And these theories have laid the solid theory foundation for researching various performances of our country when we participate into the outward foreign direct investment activities.The third part summarizes the development status and characteristics of Chinese enterprises' direct investment in American manufacturing since 2000.In general,the total investment and the number of investment projects are increasing,and there is a situation of increasing acceleration;from the angle of investment mode and investment subject,the foreign investment of private enterprises is relatively more vigorous.For the number of investment projects,the green field takes more on the one hand,for the total investment,cross-border mergers and acquisitions accounts for a greater proportion on the other hand.The fourth part makes qualitative analysis primarily and combines the existing theories and data.This paper makes a qualitative analysis of the influencing factors from four aspects and considers that the economic development degree and the investment environment of America,the domestic impetus of China,the economic and trade relations between the two countries and the avoidance of conflicts will affect the outward foreign direct investment of Chinese enterprises to American manufacturing.The influence path and effect of each factor are also analyzed.At the same time,associating with the empirical research,using the GLS model,empirical analysis to the influence factors of the outward foreign direct investment of Chinese enterprises for American manufacturing can give the theoretical basis to the following policy and improvement suggestions from the perspective of it.The fifth part mainly studies the influence and the empirical analysis of the impact of Chinese enterprises growth investment to American manufacturing for national manufacturing.And the impact can be divided into two aspects,one is that it influences the industrial structure,the other is that it affects the total manufacturing.Besides,this paper discusses this question through the way of the combination of qualitative analysis and empirical analyses.The sixth part is to synthesize the above qualitative analysis and the empirical analyses,draw a conclusion and put forward some related policy suggestions.
