Since implementing reforms in 1986,in view of shift towards market economy and opening to the outer world,Vietnam has witnessed an enormous change,which helped in avoiding social and economic crises and entering a brand new era of development.The main reason for this change was a demand for foreign investment.In order to bring into play the potential of Vietnamese economy and implement pivotal issues of industrialization and modernization,the National Assembly issued “The Law of Foreign Investments in Vietnam”.It activated efforts in ameliorating investment environment,improved laws concerning investments,expanded relations with foreign businesses and gave a boost to direct investments.These investments became a vital condition of making the most of the national capital,which in turn give rise to new era of economic development in Vietnam.In this paper through analysis of foreign investments in Vietnam and using various methods of research,a case study has been made to be used for other scholars researching the topic.The whole paper consists of 6 parts.The first one focuses on choosing a goal of the research.In the second chapter a detailed analysis of direct investments in Vietnam is presented together with a forecast of the future situation based on current and historic trends.The third chapter elaborates on the law,environment and regional circumstances concerning foreign investments.The fourth chapter is an empirical survey on the topic.The fifth In the last chapter a summary of the paper is presented,which states that foreign investments should be aimed at increasing the domestic product of Vietnam and improve the harmonious development of Vietnamese society,economy and environment.
