Red tourism is an important and special type of tourism in China.It not only plays an important role in promoting the economic development of the old revolutionary areas,but also carries the political,social and educational functions of inheriting social memory and the red spirit.In the research process of red tourism for more than ten years,the introduction of tourism experience theory is not mature enough.This paper attempts to start from the development status and existing problems of red tourism,and refines the research question into "What does red tourism bring to tourists?"It further answers and solves this problem from the perspective of tourism:"How can tourists get a good experience of red tourism?"In this study,comprehensive analysis of qualitative methods was used to collect materials.According to the grounded theory,three-stage coding was carried out:open coding,axial coding and selective coding.Interviews,travel notes and other transcripts were transcribed,collated,analyzed,and finally formed a theory.The following conclusions are drawn:(1)New categories have been put forward:"formal ceremony","content ceremony" and "red trigger".The definition of red tourism has been redefined,and propose that the definition of red tourism should be separate to narrow sense and broad sense.(2)A new proposition has been put forward:Red tourism experience can be summarized into four dimensions:cognitive,emotion,will and action,in which cognitive,emotion,will is the dimension of on-site experience,action is the dimension of experience after leaving.A red tourism experience and harvest model has been formed.Among them,the cognitive experience dimension includes historical cognition,party cognition,human cognition,historical imagination,perception of individual happiness,historical perception and self-reflection;the emotional experience dimension includes aesthetic experience,patriotic emotion and political party emotion,leisure experience.(3)The trigger of tourists' red pleasure in interviews and travel notes are identified and defined.It is also the ways to realize red pleasure:ritual,the application of modern technology,tourism performance,on-the-spot transformation and tourism interaction.As a descriptive study,this study enriches the research perspective of red tourism theoretically by applying ritual theory,authenticity theory and performance theory in the field of tourism experience.The result of this paper can promote the theoretical construction of red tourism.After empirical research,several dimensions of the results of red tourism experience have been put forward.This study expects to build a theoretical model for the study of red tourism experience with the help of classical theory in the field of tourism experience.It will provide reference for the development of quantitative red tourism satisfaction scale in the future.This study focus on the experience from tourists' perspective of to study,provides decision-making reference for the tourism planning departments of the government.The conclusion of this paper can provide a theoretical basis for guiding the experiential development of scenic spots,and can also provide optimization suggestions for the red tourism marketing.
