Slavoj (?)i(?)ek(1949-)is a famous philosopher and psychoanalyst in the western academic circle.Commodity fetishism theory plays an important role in (?)i(?)ek's criticism of capitalist society and ideology.Based on Marx's theory of commodity fetishism,(?)i(?)ek creatively applied Lacan's psychoanalysis to construct his own theory of commodity fetishism. With the development of social life, people's life has become more abstract.Contemporary fetishism is changing its form and becoming more hidden with this change.(?)i(?)ek pointed out that commodity fetishism is the cynical ideology manifested by the main body of modern society. He believes that through the analysis of the commodity fetishism theory,we can clearly see that the noble object disguised as the main body maintains the order of the symbolic world, and separates the symbolic world from the real world through signs, placing us in the illusion of ideology.Faced with this situation, through the interpretation of signs, through the illusion of ideology,to realize the criticism of ideology. In addition,(?)i(?)ek is also trying to reconstruct the subject-object relationship of commodity fetishism in view of the current transformation of commodity fetishism from formal to structural. This article will start from explaining the origin of the theory of commodity fetishism and the historical background and theoretical origin of (?)i(?)ek's research on commodity fetishism, analyze the reasons why (?)i(?)ek studies commodity fetishism, then sort out the core content of (?)i(?)ek's theory of commodity fetishism, thus revealing the theoretical aim of (?)i(?)ek's research on commodity fetishism, and finally make an objective evaluation of (?)i(?)ek's theory of commodity fetishism.
