As an important symbol of Chinese civilization,Chinese ancient coins have a long history and have had an important impact on other countries.In the Song Dynasty,the copper currencies of the Song was a major category in ancient Chinese coins.With the maritime trade between China and Japan from the 10th to 13th centuries,it was gradually imported to Japan.With its stable currency and good quality,it eventually became the main currencies in Japan in the end of 13th century.The paper takes the Song Dynasty's copper currencies found in Japan as the research object,according to historical documents and archaeological materials,combing its quantity distribution,circulation methods and conditions,as well as changes and characteristics in the circulation process.The paper first sorts out the locations of all kinds of unearthed sites of copper currencies in Japan,and divides them into four major regions of Japan's Kyushu,Shikoku,Honshu and Hokkaido.In addition,the number and type of the copper currencies from the sites are counted.At about 300 archaeological ruins,a total number of copper currencies is about 437 million,and from the Kyushu area in the south of Japan to the Hokkaido area in the north,there are a total of 112 different kinds and numbers of copper currencies.There are different levels of discoveries in various regions of Japan,and the distribution of "The east is more than the west”is generally presented.Among them,the copper currencies from the Song Dynasty is the most in terms of quantity and type.Secondly,for the way and conditions of the circulation of copper currencies from the Song Dynasty in the 10th and 13th centuries,it can be found that Japan used it as an important storage wealth and trading medium to avoid disasters,and was used as money for storage and trade.The conditions for the circulation of copper currencies in the Song Dynasty to be distributed in Japan,this paper is combined with the background of the Song and Japan at that time,divided into Wang Anshi's currency reform,the Song and Jin's monetary system,and the Japanese royal dynasty's 12 kinds of coins'rising and falling,Ping family's trade opening policy.The two perspectives are elaborated.Finally,combined with the number of castings and the amount of circulation of each Song Dynasty unearthed copper currencies in Japan,the article discusses the changes in circulation and circulation of copper currencies in Japan during the Song Dynasty,and summarizes and sorts out the input period and input quantity of the Song Dynasty.The volatility period,the peak period of production,the low input period,and the peak input period.In the process of circulation of copper currencies in the Song Dynasty in Japan,both in terms of variety and quantity,it showed a relatively stable and balanced character,and the change was relatively small,which should be a relatively stable performance in the circulation process.In the middle and late 13th century,the copper currencies fr-om the Song Dynasty was basically fully circulated throughout Japan.In the western part of Japan,represented by Japan's Kyushu region,it may be affected by the degree of regional and openness.In the selection of the face value of copper currencies flow in the Song Dynasty,it shows a difference in face value and material from other parts of Japan.At the same time,it is also the characteristic Song Dynasty crossed copper currencies circulation area.
