| This research examines the impact the North American Free Trade Agreement has had on Canadian Gross Domestic Product growth since its implementation in 1994.The impact of free trade and international trade is examined through past research and presentation of data.Data analysis is done through a linear regression model and time series analysis using the Stata software.The result of the research is that Canadian trade has been positively impacted by the NAFTA with an increase in Canadian exports contributing positively to Canadian GDP growth whereas imports have not.This research provides support to free trade agreements by examining the effect the NAFTA has had on Canadian GDP growth over the past 24 years. |
