Recently,the competition of each industries is becoming more and more fierce,especially in enterprises which are located in suburb or urban or the enterprises that can be easily seen when we turn around,so that enterprises will try to create their own organization impressions for customers,because each there is no difference in the appearance,quality,and price of products.They must fight through promotional activities,and create impressions to provide good services to customers.Supermarket industry is also one of the most fiercely competitive industries because there are many supermarkets everywhere in the country or in the city,each supermarket must improve its performance whether it is the quality of goods or the level of service,it affects the purchase decision of customers.There are many types of services in the supermarket,such as shopping guide service,point service,cashier service,etc.The most obvious service is the checkout service,here customer has to wait in line to receive services because of the length of the checkout time of the supermarket checkout.Whether the customer decides to purchase the product,if some customers can't accept that if the queue waiting for the service before the checkout is too long,and the customer has to wait too long,these customers may give up and leave the queuing system,and customer losing will appear.This paper used Arena Rockwell simulation as a tool for study.We used Hua Lian supermarket,which is opposite to Lanzhou Jiaotong University,as a case study,we mainly surveyed and analyzed the customer arrival time and cashier service time.This paper used Arena Rockwell simulation program's Input Analyzer analyzed customer's arrival time.Supermarket operation time is divided to be 3 period times but the survey is divided to be 6period times.After that,we simulated this supermarket model finding the causes of problem and used Arena Rockwell simulation program's Optquest in order to find the best and the most reasonable result.According to model result,we found that the amount of opened-counters in each period times is irrational,this affects to customer waiting time and cashier counter service.Therefore,this paper will reduce total waiting time by simulation and revise the amount of opened-counters in each period times suitably.After using Optquest,we found the best solution which can reduce total waiting time around 12.66%.
