As an effective way to improve the performance and competitiveness of enterprises, total quality management is favored by enterprises all over the world, but the practice of total quality management still has problems that cannot be ignored. The critical successful factors of total quality management have received widespread attention and are considered to be necessary prerequisites for enterprises to achieve quality improvement and performance achievements. However, existing research focuses on the critical successful factors of total quality management while ignoring the same important and even more fundamentally decisive soft. Some key success factors, some scholars pointed out that this is the key to many companies investing in human resources and resources to practice total quality management but in vain. Therefore, this paper decided to study the key success factors of total quality management softness,to classify their importance levels, and to guide the company's overall quality management practices. This study covers seven critical successful factors that have been identified and have the highest level of focus on quality management, including leadership, strategic quality planning, supplier management, customer orientation, human resource management, continuous improvement, and corporate climate.228 Chinese manufacturing companies in central China issued questionnaires to collect research data.Combining the past literature and enterprise research experience, this paper proposes twenty-three path relationship hypotheses about the key success factors of total quality management softness and the impact on enterprise results, and validates the hypothesis model using structural equation modeling. In the end,the eleven hypotheses proved to be significant. The study found that supplier management and corporate climate have positive, direct and significant impacts on multiple soft critical successful factors and corporate outcomes,so they are classified as core tasks;leadership And strategic quality planning is indirectly promoted by core tasks,so it is classified as a supportive task, while human resource management, continuous improvement and customer orientation are classified as routine tasks without any significant impact on corporate outcomes. In addition, within each task category, its importance level is further divided according to the influence of factors, thus forming an empirical framework for the key success factors of total quality management softness. In order to verify and further explore the results obtained by the structural equation model, this study introduces the method of fuzzy set qualitative comparison analysis, and studies the influence relationship of soft critical successful factors from the perspective of configuration.Through the analysis of the obtained configuration,it is found that most of the antecedent configurations that lead to positive business success include both supplier management and corporate atmosphere,so the data results of the structural equation model are verified to some extent. In addition, this study further focuses on the factors that have a significant impact on the company's results, that is,the core tasks and supporting tasks, using fuzzy sets of comparative analysis methods to summarize the case and draw a comprehensive result of bringing positive business results. The configuration of the soft critical successful factors for TQM lays the foundation for further exploring the influence relationship of multi-factor coexistence.
