Under the background of deepening the opening up of Finance and accelerating the reform,Chinese commercial banks have begun to transform and vigorously expand non-interest income. In China,non-interest income business mainly includes handling fees and commission net income, net investment income, net exchange income, fair value change income and other non-interest income. The development of non-interest income in commercial banks helps to improve business performance, but the reality of our country is contrary to this theory. Therefore, this paper chooses the recruitment bank as a successful case to analyze the way of developing non-interest business for other small and medium-sized banks to learn from. The structure of this paper is divided into five parts. The first part is an introduction. The second part introduces the theoretical basis of non-interest income and small and medium-sized banks. The third part is an analysis of the actual situation of the development of non-interest income in China's banks. The third part firstly analyses the scale and structure of non-interest income of banks in China, and finds that there are some problems such as small scale and single type of business,so it carries out a further simple empirical test. The results show that the proportion of non-interest income of state-owned banks is positively correlated with the return on assets of banks.Non-interest income will not improve the performance of small and medium-sized listed banks, but will inhibit their development. After combining the results of regression and comparing small and medium-sized banks with state-owned banks,it can be concluded that there are some problems in developing non-interest income of small and medium-sized banks, which are more dependent on non-interest business but not high proportion, incomplete business types and serious homogeneity. In order to improve the existing problems of small and medium-sized listed banks, the fourth part of this paper chooses China Merchants Bank as the object of case analysis,in order to extract its worth learning. The last part is the conclusion of the full text and the suggestions of developing non-interest income for small and medium-sized listed banks. The case analysis of China Merchants Bank's development of non-interest income is the key content of this article.Firstly,it gives a brief overview and analysis of the transformation process of China Merchants Bank's profit model, and extracts the excellent development ideas and ideas of China Merchants Bank;secondly,it analyses the development process and current situation of China Merchants Bank's non-interest income, mainly including the scale of development, proportion, risk management, specific measures and so on.However, due to the late development of non-interest business in China's banks, compared with developed countries, there are still many problems. Finally, the scale and structure of China Merchants Bank and Bank of America are compared, and the common problems of China Merchants Bank and other small and medium-sized listed banks are summarized.
