Research on technology adoption behavior of farmers has always been a hot spot and focus in the field of agricultural economic management research. However, the existing research pays more attention to the characteristics of farmers' technology adoption behaviors and their influencing mechanisms in developed regions. The research on farmers' technology adoption behaviors and their influencing factors in poverty-stricken areas based on bounded rationality perspectives has received little research attention. This study used field research to obtain 741 valid questionnaire data from 16 poverty-stricken counties in Sichuan Province, and constructed a binary logistic model and a disordered multi-classified logistic model to explore the adoption behavior of farmers in poverty-stricken areas, including the adoption of new technologies and technology types of selection behavior and its mechanism of action. The main conclusions of the study include:(1)The task of poverty alleviation in poverty-stricken areas in Sichuan Province is arduous. The main providers of agricultural science and technology services in the region include government departments, universities and research institutes, enterprises and new agricultural management entities, and social organizations.Government departments are important source of technology for most farmers.(2)Farmers in poverty-stricken areas are limited and rational people. Not only are agricultural science and technology demand relatively single, but overall demand is not strong. The biggest obstacle for farmers in poor areas to adopt agricultural science and technology is their low level of education.Only 57.90% of the farmers surveyed adopt new technologies.Pest control technology, new varieties and improved seed technology, and aquaculture technology are the three main choices for farmers in poverty-stricken areas, but the total demand for information management such as agricultural products management and macro-policy information is 18.57%.In addition, the most desired agricultural technology service method for the surveyed households is one-on-one guidance.(3)The proportion of non-poor households and poor households adopting new technology groups in poverty-stricken areas is not much different, accounting for about 58%.Whether the farmer adopts new technology has nothing to do with the type of farmer.Whether farmers in poverty-stricken areas adopt new technologies depends on factors such as the number of years of education, gender, risk attitudes, population and agricultural production labor, number of migrant workers, major sources of income for farmers, and training in science and technology services.(4)The technology types preferred by farmers in poverty-stricken areas are affected by factors such as the age of the household, the years of education, the risk attitude, the stage of the family life cycle, the distance from the center town, and the number of migrant workers.Main policy recommendations:(1)Focus on farmers and improve the mechanism of poverty alleviation through science and technology. In line with the needs of farmers, targeted scientific and technological guidance can better improve the effectiveness of science and technology promotion of farmers in poverty-stricken areas.(2)Strengthen the intensity of science and technology training in poverty-stricken areas and improve the knowledge and skills of farmers as a whole.(3)Improve the agricultural science and technology promotion mechanism in poverty-stricken areas and enhance the demonstration effect at the grassroots level.(4)Strengthen the construction of agricultural science and technology talents and improve the quality of scientific and technological services.
