Over the past thirty years, great changes have taken place in the global economy and society.Economic growth has seen an unprecedented high speed. At the same time, the pattern of income distribution has also undergone tremendous changes.Since the beginning of the 1980 s,the vast majority of countries in the world have had different degrees of widening income gap.Economic globalization makes countries participating in international production and international trade occupy an increasingly important position in the global value chain.International division of labor and international cooperation are further deepened, and the international flow of production elements has been further enhanced. With regard to the impact of economic globalization on income inequality, there is still much controversy in the academic area on this issue.Whether the status of countries in the global value chain will affect the inequality of domestic income, and whether income inequality in a country will affect its division and status in the global value chain, there is still no more related research on this issue. Therefore, this article will attempt to examine whether there is a significant correlation between income inequality and the status of the country in the global value chain by exploring the correlation between the Gini coefficient and the global value chain. This article hopes to provide some suggestions for countries to participate in the process of globalization and reduce income inequality.
