Risk decision making is that making decisions under uncertainty.Researches have proven that people are more risk tendency when they make decisions for others,and the elderly are less risk tendency than the young.Generally speaking,the elderly will be more carefully than the young when they make decisions.However,from the news,the elderly also have risk behaviors when they buy varieties of medical or do investment in daily life.In current study,questionnaire and experiments are be used to find:(1)whether the reason why the elderly make irrational decisions is they have less information of fraud cases;(2)whether the young are more risk than the elderly making decision,and how the roles of decision-making influences risk tendency,(3)whether social support influences risk tendency of the young or elderly.Using non-standardized questionnaire explores the opinion of the young and elderly about elderly people's irrational decision in real life,and the meaning of interpersonal interaction to the young and elderly.Experiment 1 explores how the roles of decision-making influence making decision in the young and elderly.Age(university students vs.the elderly)and roles of decision-making(for self,for similar others,for different others)are independent variables.Experiment 2 explores how social support influences making decision in the young and elderly.Age(university students vs.the elderly),roles of decision-making(for self,for similar others,for different others),and social support(non-social support,social support)are independent variables.Based on experiment 1,experiment 2,and experiment 3,discussing the influence of the roles of decision-making and social support on making decision in life-span.Results find that:(1)the elderly know more information than the young about fraud cases;(2)emotion communication is more important to the elderly during interpersonal interaction,but getting information is more important to the young.(3)the young are more risk tendency;(4)for the elderly,there is no difference among three roles of decision-making in investment task;(5)the young and elderly are more likely to join in activities under social support condition;(6)in loss cases,the elderly are more risk tendency when they make decision for different others under social support condition.
