Research On The Competitiveness Of Rice Production Enterprises In Mekong Delta In The Context Of Economic Integration

In the commodity export of Vietnam,rice is always played as key agricultural commodities,with contributions billions of dollars each year in total export value.It’s not only contributing to the overall growth of the economy,but also gradually affirmed Vietnam’s position on the international rice market.However,it has not still been commensurate with the value and potential of rice from Vietnam.In addition,the fact is that in recent years although export rice increased sharply,brought about many records for Vietnam but lower prices than other rice exporting countries(Thailand,India,Pakistan).And moreover,rice processing and exporting enterprises are always faced with high competition in quality and price with regional competitors and strong rice exporting countries in the world.The research and assessment of the situation and clarification of the influencing factors from which to propose a number of highly feasible suitable solutions to boost the export of agricultural products in general and rice in particular of Vietnam.This has important implications on both theoretical and practical aspects for Vietnam today.Accordingly,the thesis has focused on solving some of the following basic issues:The thesis has reviewed more than 20 research projects in the world and in the country related to rice export in two aspects: research methods and research results.Thereby,through the study of capacity theory and analysis of the characteristics of current Vietnamese rice export enterprises,combined with the perspective of Competitive capability of the topic,the author has synthesized and supplemented to provide 6 main groups of factors affecting the Competitive capability of enterprises,these factors include:(1)Management organization capacity;(2)Marketing capacity;(3)Financial capacity;(4)Capacity to access and innovate technology;(5)Service organization capacity and(6)Capacity to establish relationships.In particular,the study focused on analyzing the competitiveness of rice production enterprises in the Mekong Delta region,through using quantitative research methods such as descriptive statistics,comparisons,Cluster chart diagram to describe the current situation and analyze the business environment of the rice export sector in the Mekong Delta region.At the same time,data was collected using questionnaires and interview methods.Logistic RegressionAnalysis model was applied to find out the factors influencing and determining the criteria to assess the competitiveness of enterprises.Besides,the study also analyzes the components of competitiveness of rice production enterprises in the Mekong Delta region.Since then,proposing feasible solutions to help increase competitiveness for businesses in the rice export industry in the Mekong Delta.The study also recommended State organizations and specialized agencies to pay more attention and focus on the competition of small and medium enterprises in processing and exporting rice in the Mekong Delta region,along with is to create maximum conditions and support for businesses to stand firm and face competition in the region and the world.
