Analysis Of Temporal And Spatial Characteristics Of Land Use In Hunan Province

Land use is the most direct reflection of human activities on a natural basis.With the rapid development of social economy,the impact of human social and economic activities on land use changes has become increasingly serious.Resulting in various types of land use problems continue to accentuate,the contradiction between man and land has become increasingly acute.Therefore,this study analyzes the overall situation and dynamic changes of land use change in Hunan Province based on the data of land use in Hunan Province,this study mainly used land use dynamics models,land use transfer matrices,land use comprehensiveness index,regional center of gravity theory and principal component analysis,and discusses the influencing factors of land use change and its changing rules in Hunan Province.The main findings of this article are as follows:(1)Through the analysis of the changes in the quantity of land use in Hunan Province from 2000 to 2015,it can be found that the area of construction land,wetland,and unused land are increased,decreased for arable land,forestland and the grass land during the period 15 years.The construction land kept increasing and the area of concentrated areas increased in space.The newly-added construction land showed more decentralized features;the area of cultivated land continued to decrease,and in space of appeared to be scattered by large patches.(2)Through the analysis of the land use transfer matrix in Hunan Province,the mutual transfer process between the various types of land is more complex.It is the mainly mutual transfer between arable land and construction land and forestland,the construction land exhibits highest dynamic,with a total increase of 251,300 hectares in 15 years.while the arable land with biggest transferring area which reduced a total of 196,000 hectares from 2000 to 2015.(3)From the direction of change in Hunan Province,the focus of the six types of land use has shown a trend of migration from southeast to northwest,while the economic center of gravity has changed in the same direction as that of the third industry,and it shows a trend of northeast to northwest migration to north again.The migration of population and economic center of gravity is in the opposite direction.The overall trend of migration from northeast to southwest shows that the imbalance between population distribution and economic development is increasing.(4)Finally,this paper also uses a combination of qualitative and quantitative analysis methods to study the driving factors of land use change in Hunan Province.The research and analysis show that the most important factor affecting the land use change in Hunan Province is the economic development factor.In addition,land use changes will also be affected by government-related policies to a certain extent.
