Study On The Completing Of GM Foods Labeling System In China

As genetically modified foods are increasingly on people's tables,various governments have also developed their own genetically modified food labeling systems.At present,genetically modified food labeling system is the mainstream,China's genetically modified food logo is mandatory labeling system,as long as the food contains genetically modified ingredients,the food should have genetically modified food logo.The method of qualitative and compulsory labeling is more and more incompatible with the reality of production and life in our country.It not only increases the difficulty of implementing the compulsory labeling system of genetically modified food,but also lacks consideration of the objective restriction of transgenic detection technology.The European GM foods labeling system has a great influence in the world,the EU is the implementation of quantitative mandatory labeling system rather than qualitative mandatory labeling system.Japan also usegenetically modified food mandatory quantitative logo.The quantitative identification of genetically modified is the international practice.The European and Japanese genetically modified food labeling system has a positive reference for our country to improve the labeling system of genetically modified food in China,especially the provisions of the EU logo,the threshold and Japanese labeling mechanism.In this paper,the GM foods labeling system in China is taken as the object of study.Under the premise of understanding the present situation of GMO cultivation and the current situation of genetically modified foods sales in China,this paper puts forward the suggestions of completing the identification and identification methods of the GM foods labeling system in China.
